Louise Michell

Lucille Mitchell graduated from therapy and was able to go home today. We were able to get a big “thumbs up” from her. Congrats Mrs. Mitchell- we will miss you!

Josie and alley

Malcolm Alley has been at Signature two times now and said the reason he came back was because of our awesome “therapy department”. Two that stood out to him were Josie who he nicknamed “Bossy” and Kristi who he nicknamed “Sunshine”. Mr. Alley is at home now and still doing outpatient therapy here. We have enjoyed him so much! He has been a joy and we appreciate him allowing us to be his friend and care giver. Thank you Mr. Alley!

mr anderson

Malcolm Anderson is “moving on” but with ony great things to say, he came here for therapy and has excelled. Mr. Anderson and his wife Mrs. Anderson stated: Signature is very fortunate to have such wonderful people leading the building. Kim Kilpatrick welcomed us with open arms and Signature is very lucky to have her, I was her Home Economics teacher in school and she was amazing then as well. I was amazed at the at the Full Life Conference – all the leaders in the building met with me and formed a circle around me.. It felt like a support circle and I know my husband has felt the same support while here. We sure will miss everyone.

SHC of Columbia just held a Mardi Gras celebration with food, face painting, decorations and more. We had a great time!

We have a gentleman, Isom Pillow, who has worked at our facility for over 10 years. He is the most dedicated worker. He has not missed a day and gives away his paid time off.

What makes this story unique is that Isom rides his bike to work every day – rain, shine, sleet or snow. I reached out to Regions Bank (as their logo is a green bike) and presented them with the story, with the help of the Senior Center here in Columbia. Regions Bank was absolutely amazing! They ordered Isom a new green bike and presented him with it at our facility today. The smile has not left his face. It was our way of giving back for all of his hard work and dedication to us. We are so appreciative to Regions Bank and glad we were able to provide Isom with this.

We had a great Christmas at Signature HealthCARE of Columbia. Churches, staff, family, other groups and individuals loaded the residents down with gifts. Every resident received multiple gifts and had a great time.

Chaplain Baker led everyone in Christmas hymns, the Baker kids sang, activities and dietary provided some great food and we even had a special guest appearance by the big guy in red.

We appreciate all the support by everyone to give our residents a very Merry Christmas!
