Amanda Armstrong is retiring from the Dietary Department after 25 years of service! We are sorry to see her go, but happy for her to start this next journey in her life.

We are so thankful for her many years of dedication and hard work! Amanda came to the staff meeting hoping to win a TV. We heard this was the case, so we made sure she received one!

We enjoyed a fun-filled day here at Signature HealthCARE of Columbia. First, we celebrated International Doughnut Day with a variety of doughnuts for our residents and staff.

Then some of our volunteers put on an amazing line dancing show that everyone in the building was invited to attend!

Signature Healthcare of Cleveland, Columbia, and Donelson shared a superb day in Chattanooga, and the weather couldn’t have been better. 50 residents and staff members from the buildings enjoyed an adventurous tour to the Tennessee Aquarium followed by a picnic lunch on the river front.

It was here that the crew learned about species of fish, reptiles, butterflies, and others animals as they worked their way through the River and Ocean Journeys. Our residents saw species found within the ocean such as jellyfish, sharks, turtles, stingrays as well as other fish that can be found within our own lakes and rivers in Tennessee.

It’s pretty frightening to know what’s lurking in the water beneath you. Many of those fish are scary!

Residents were entertained by the antics of the penguins and otters. They definitely put on a show for our residents by wrestling and flying through the water. We also enjoyed the antics of the children playing games in the park and enjoying their own trips to the aquarium.

Pictures nor words can describe the kind of day that was had in Chattanooga!

On this rainy Tuesday afternoon we made yummy pizza biscuits.

The residents and staff enjoyed a week full of activities to celebrate National Nursing Home Week.

Signature HealthCARE of Columbia celebrated Signature’s Global Day of Prayer with outdoor festivities and prayer.

We would like to give a special thanks to Shelia Butt, State Representative of Tennessee, who came by to speak and pray with our Residents.

To wrap up National Nursing Home Week, SHC of Columbia hosted a Global Day of Prayer on May 15. Tennessee House Majority Floor Leader Sheila Butt visited with Wanda Lentz and several other Signature residents after she spoke about the freedom and opportunities we have through the power of prayer. Her husband, preacher Stan Butt, led staff and residents in prayer. Afterward, residents enjoyed a carnival.
