We are excited to announce that SHC Columbia came in 2nd place overall at the Senior Olympics held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee this year. A lot of hard work and fun was put into this event. We are looking forward to next year’s event and hoping to come into 1st place! #RowdyRockers
Samuel Jeffcoat was admitted to our facility a little over a week ago. Today he had a surprise visit from his mom, sister, and two aunts! He has not seen his mother in over 35 years! He didn’t even recognize her! His aunt lives in Gulf Shores, AL. She drove to Texas to pick up his mother and then here for a surprise visit. Needless to say, it’s been a great day!
Signature HealthCARE of Columbia hosted the playoffs for the Urban North Division in Columbia last week. Lots of fun was had by all!
The afternoon started off with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Residents and stakeholders competed for 1st place in different categories. Check out our Facebook page for full videos of the winners!
Today we had Culture Day and featured Scotland! The residents enjoyed scotch eggs, shepherds pie, and glazed cherry cupcakes! The residents made the eggs themselves and our very own Vicki Hope made the delicious pie and cupcakes!
We would like to say “Thank you!” to everyone who served or is serving so that we can have our freedom! Our thoughts and prayers are with the families whose loved ones gave all for us. May God bless you all.
On Friday, our residents lined up for real strawberry ice cream! It might have been hot and humid outside, but it was cool and refreshing inside! Yummy!
Today we celebrated the final day of Nursing Home Week with Signature’s Got Talent. Ms. Myrtle Hannah came back to sing and play piano for us! Other residents sang for us too.Ricky Campbell and Joe Raybon were our winners. It was a great way to end our week–singing praises to the Lord! There was a joyful noise being made here!
Today was Carnival Day at Signature. We had a nice picnic outside, which included corn dogs, chicken strips, french fires, cole slaw, and chocolate chip cookies! Afterwards, the dining room was packed for games, which included bean bag toss and pie in your face! Snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn were served as treats. Afterward all that, we went back outside for the dunking booth! The residents got to dunk our staff. It was a very fun day at Signature. We are truly blessed.
